--------------------------------------------------------------------------- FWF Combo Report generated using the latest Fire Weather Forecasts issued by PBZ/CTP at *** 3:03am *** on Wednesday September 18, 2024. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fire Weather Planning Forecast National Weather Service Pittsburgh PA 219 AM EDT Wed Sep 18 2024 .Discussion... The rainfall accumulation forecast remains light at best for the higher elevations of Pennsylvania and West Virginia, extending slightly west. This will do little to alleviate drought and dry fuel concerns, particularly for eastern Ohio. Despite this, moisture advection will keep relative humidities into the 50s and 60s today, followed by 40s and 50s tomorrow. Winds may gust up to 10 to 20mph in the afternoons. This should limit the burning potential for fine fuels. A dry and warmer period is forecast to return late- week and into the weekend. && Forest- Including the city of Tionesta 219 AM EDT Wed Sep 18 2024 Today Tonight Thu Cloud Cover Mcldy Pcldy Pcldy Precip Type Showers None None Chance Precip (%) 20 0 0 Temp (24h trend) 74 (-2) 53 (-1) 80 RH % (24h trend) 60 (-2) 99 (0) 42 20ft Wnd-Val/AM(mph) Lgt/Var Lgt/Var 20ft Wnd-Rdg/PM(mph) Lgt/Var Lgt/Var Lgt/Var Precip Amount 0.00 0.00 0.00 Precip Duration 0 Precip Begin 8 AM Precip End 2 PM Mixing Hgt(m-agl/msl) 1040 1720 Mixing Hgt(ft-agl/msl)3400 5660 Transport Wnd (mph) E 7 NE 9 Vent Rate (kt-ft) 20400 45280 Dispersion 2 3 LAL 1 1 1 Haines Index 4 4 5 ADI early 15 Gen Poor 3 Very Poor 22 Fair ADI late 18 Gen Poor 3 Very Poor 55 Gen Good Max LVORI early 8 6 7 Max LVORI late 3 8 1 Remarks: ADI is Atmospheric Dispersion Index by Lavdas. Low pressure over the Southern Appalachians this morning will meander slowly to the northeast over the next few days. A deep southeasterly flow off the Western Atlantic will create plenty of clouds and occasional rain across the southern third of the state today and tonight, with more system intermittent light rain near and just to the south of Interstate 80. Nothing more than some sprinkles are expected across the Northern Mountains of Pennsylvania. The areal coverage of rain will decrease across Central Pennsylvania Thursday, with the best chance of rain shifting to the Lower Susquehanna and Western Poconos. A ridge of high pressure at the surface and aloft will build east from the Ohio Valley for Friday and Saturday, accompanied by variable amounts of clouds, but generally dry conditions. && Warren- Including the city of Warren 303 AM EDT Wed Sep 18 2024 Today Tonight Thu Cloud Cover Mcldy Mcldy Pcldy Precip Type None None None Chance Precip (%) 0 0 0 Temp (24h trend) 75 (-2) 54 (+1) 79 RH % (24h trend) 58 (+9) 100 (0) 42 20ftWnd-Val/AM(mph) Lgt/Var Lgt/Var 20ftWnd-Rdg/PM(mph) Lgt/Var Lgt/Var Lgt/Var Precip Amount 0.00 0.00 0.00 Precip Duration Precip Begin Precip End Mixing Hgt(ft-agl) 3600 290 4870 Transport Wnd (mph) SE 6 E 5 NE 9 Vent Rate (kt-ft) 18000 1160 38960 Dispersion 5 1 5 DSI 1 2 Sunshine Hours 3 8 LAL No Tstms No Tstms No Tstms Haines Index 4 4 5 Max ADI Early 14 Gen Poor 3 Very Poor 20 Gen Poor Max ADI Late 19 Gen Poor 3 Very Poor 27 Fair Max LVORI Early 9 6 9 Max LVORI Late 3 8 2 Remarks: ADI is Atmospheric Dispersion Index by Lavdas.
