A strong area of surface low pressure moving through Lower Michigan will pull warmer and more humid air north into Pennsylvania this afternoon and evening. Skies will stay overcast for much of the rest of the day, near and to the east of the Route 219 corridor in Western PA, with isolated to scattered showers racing northeast across the region. A few late day and early evening thunderstorms are expected across the Western Mountains and Lower Susquehanna Valley as a cold front approaches from the west. Gusty southeast winds will turn southwesterly across the Northwest Mountains and Laurel Highlands late this afternoon, then westerly overnight. Winds could gust between 40 and 50 mph across the Laurel Highlands and Northwest Mountains. Westerly winds gradually taper off during the day Sunday as dry air moves in an skies become cloud-free. RH values will dip into the low 30s to upper 20s Sunday afternoon, but recent rainfall should help limit fire concerns despite low RHs and gusty winds. Additional rain, and likely some wet snow across the higher elevations of Central and Northern PA will arrive for Monday afternoon and night, further helping to keep fire weather concerns low. && Warren- Including the city of Warren 250 PM EDT Sat Mar 25 2023 Tonight Sun Sun Night Mon Cloud Cover Mcldy Mclear Mclear Mcldy Precip Type Tstms None None Snow/Rain Chance Precip (%) 70 0 0 70 Temp (24h trend) 30 (-5) 49 (-7) 29 47 RH % (24h trend) 87 (-10) 35 (-29) 92 53 20ftWnd-Val/AM(mph) W 12 G28 Lgt/Var 20ftWnd-Rdg/PM(mph) SW 19 G41 W 10 G19 W 5 G14 E 5 Precip Amount 0.09 0.00 0.00 0.05 Precip Duration 3 4 Precip Begin 6 PM 8 AM Precip End 6 AM Continuing Mixing Hgt(ft-agl) 1800 4950 300 2330 Transport Wnd (mph) W 26 W 28 N 5 N 12 Vent Rate (kt-ft) 41400 118800 1200 23300 Dispersion 5 5 1 5 DSI 0 0 Sunshine Hours 8 4 LAL >25 Strikes No Tstms No Tstms No Tstms Haines Index 2 3 4 3 Max ADI Early 50 Gen Good 57 Gen Good 14 Gen Poor 13 Gen Poor Max ADI Late 46 Gen Good 83 Good 3 Very Poor 24 Fair Max LVORI Early 4 4 3 5 Max LVORI Late 4 1 6 2 Remarks: ADI is Atmospheric Dispersion Index by Lavdas.
