was located near Latitude 8.1 degrees North and Longitude 137.1
degrees East, drifting northwest at 3 mph. TD 02W is expected to
drift northward today and tonight, then turn slowly northwest on
Thursday. This motion will take 02W just west of Ngulu around noon
CHST today.

Maximum sustained winds have increased to 35 mph. TD 02W is forecast
to intensify during the day, and is likely to be a tropical storm
by late this morning or this afternoon.
