A cold front will approach late Thursday afternoon and evening. Southwest flow ahead of the front will allow temperatures to rise into the lower 70s for portions of the area, although the Long Island and Connecticut coasts will be much cooler. There will also be a chance for rain, especially with the front late in the day.
