FNUS55 KBOU 032113 FWFBOU Fire Weather Forecast for Northeast and North Central Colorado National Weather Service Denver/Boulder CO 313 PM MDT Mon Jun 3 2024 .DISCUSSION...Tonight and Tuesday...Isolated high based showers are expected later this afternoon and into this evening. Little to no rainfall is expected, but gusty winds will accompany the showers. Rain and high mountain snow move across the mountains overnight with scattered light rain showers possible across the plains as an upper level trough tracks across the Central Rockies. It may get windy late tonight and Tuesday morning in the mountains and foothills. Breezy conditions are expected to spread east onto the plains late Tuesday morning. Dry and stable conditions will prevail for Tuesday afternoon. LONG TERM DISCUSSION...Tuesday night through Saturday...Upper ridging will be in place through the period. Dry conditions will dominate through Thursday. By Friday and Saturday, moisture will increase and bring a chance of late day showers and thunderstorms to the forecast area. There could be elevated fire weather conditions over some of the plains Wednesday afternoon with humidity levels in the teens and fairly strong westerly winds. Smoke dispersal looks to be very good to excellent over the forecast area through the period, with the exception of Friday and Saturday over the plains when the dispersal will be fair to good during the afternoon hours. ...Thunderstorms imply strong gusty erratic winds... ...All surface winds are 20-Foot...10-Minute averaged winds... ...CWR is Chance of Wetting Rain - 0.10 inch or more liquid... ...24 HR Trends are based on averages over the respective zone groups and may not match the actual forecast values shown in those groups...
