Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall Threats Saturday in the Central U.S.

Multiple clusters of strong to severe thunderstorms may develop across parts of the southern Plains, ArkLaTex, and lower Mississippi Valley Saturday. Very large hail, greater than two-inches in diameter, is possible over central and northern Texas. Chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening. Stronger thunderstorms could produce brief heavy rain, gusty winds, and small hail. Thunderstorm chances continue through the weekend.

Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the mountains, foothills, and northern Sacramento Valley each day. Dry weather elsewhere with mild temperatures. Locally breezy onshore winds.
Be sure to practice cold water safety. Snow melt will keep area waterways running very fast and dangerously cold. Even strong swimmers will be in danger.
