October 23, 2015: Even though the last few months have seen below average precipitation in Downtown Rapid City and at the Rapid City Airport, the wet weather during the summer was enough to result in near record rainfall for the year. Recent rains have helped boost the rainfall total to 24.15" since Jan 1, 2015 (as of 12PM on 10/23/15) at the airport, making it the 3rd wettest year on record.
