Significant Heavy Rainfall Expected Across South Florida Today; Severe Weather Possible in the Midwest

A High Risk (level 4 of 4) of Excessive Rainfall is in effect for portions of South Florida today. Rainfall rates between 2-5 inches per hour will likely lead to considerable flash and urban flooding. Sunny skies today before a Pacific cold front moves through the region tomorrow bringing scattered rain showers and thunderstorms for Southwest Montana. Winds increase for Saturday with scattered rain shower activity Saturday and Sunday afternoon across North Central Montana.
Increasing potential (50%) for widespread rainfall amounts up to or exceeding 1 inch for most areas north of I-90 Monday through Wednesday. Slushy, wet higher mountain snow potential. Uncertainty remains with storm track and precise locations of heaviest precipitation.
Above normal temperatures today and tomorrow before temperatures start to become cooler on Sunday that continues to be below normal for this time of year through next week. Highs next week could be in the 50s and 60s (10-30 degrees colder than they were this week).
