From the Local Storm Report:

A WEAK SHORT LIVED EF-0 TORNADO INITIALLY TOUCHED DOWN IN THE OAK KNOLL SUBDIVISION IN MARRERO CAUSING MOSTLY MINOR DAMAGE. THE DAMAGE WAS MAINLY TO SHINGLES AND TREES WITH A FEW METAL CARPORTS DAMAGED OR DESTROYED. THE BEGINNING POINT OF THE DAMAGE LOOKED TO BE AROUND THE CORNER OF GLENWOOD DRIVE AND DUELING OAKS AVENUE. THE MAXIMUM WIND RATING OF 85 MPH WAS DETERMINED BASED ON A VERY LARGE HARDWOOD TREE WHICH WAS COMPLETELY UPROOTED IN THE BACKYARD OF A HOME ON KAREN DRIVE. THE TORNADO MOVED NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE INTERSECTION OF LAPALCO BLVD AND BARATARIA BLVD WHERE IT CAUSED AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT AND BLEW OUT SEVERAL SIGNS FROM BUSINESSES IN THE AREA. THE DAMAGE PATH ENDED ACROSS LAPALCO BLVD NEAR A LARGE HOME IMPROVEMENT STORE WHERE DAMAGE TO LOOSE OBJECTS WAS NOTED ALONG WITH A LARGE ROLL UP DOOR TO THE STORE BEING BLOWN OUT.
