NWS Brownsville/Rio Grande Valley Outreach Calendar

As the 2011/2012 school year kicks into full gear, your National Weather Service in the Rio Grande Valley is once again hitting the road. October is typically a busy month, and 2011 is no exception: We’ll be out and about from McAllen to Brownsville and locations in between promoting atmospheric and earth science to children of all ages, and having a bit of fun to close out the month at Gladys Porter Zoo’s "Boo at the Zoo" trick–or–treat festival. Persons living near the events listed below are welcome to attend; admission is free in most cases, but the information is priceless.

If you have an event planned later this autumn and you’d like to have our staff come and provide weather information, please give us a call or drop us an e–mail and we’ll do our best to accomodate you. In addition to conferences and town hall meetings, we’ve participated in expos and fair for young and old, health clinic events, school visits, spotter training, and much more. To schedule your event, call us at (956)-504-1432. Or, check our outreach page for a list of specific contacts to meet your needs.

We hope to come to an event near you this month!
