Expiration Statements

Weather.gov > VTEC > Expiration Statements
 
  1. Select the appropriate followup statement (i.e. SVS)
  2. Under the FOLLOWUP drop-down menu, choose the EXP option for the appropriate warning
    a) EXP will be the only option for warnings within 5 minutes of expiration or expired
    b) From 10 minutes to 5 minutes prior to warning expiration, either a CON or EXP can be issued


     
  3. Click Create Text
  4. Edit necessary text on text workstation


     
  5. Send expiration statement

If additional information on the warned storm is deemed necessary after the issuance of an EXP, a new warning will need to be issued. Warnings can be issued for as little as 10 minutes and mention can be made of the new warning replacing the existing warning.
