Extending a Hydro Warning AVAILABLE UP TO 10 MINUTES PRIOR TO WARNING EXPIRATION
Extensions are an all-or-nothing prospect - All warned areas are extended with this action To extend only part of the area, you must re-issue for the desired area upon expiration
Choose the type of warning you want to extend
Flash Flood, Non-convective/Dam Break Flash Flood, Areal Flood Warning, Areal Flood Advisory, Flash Flood/SVR combined (WR only)
Choose the warning you wish to extend by right-clicking in the area of the desired warning (see https://www.weather.gov/vtec/EZFollowups for more info). The polygon will appear and that product will come to the top of the list.
Choose the amount of time you wish to add to the warning.Note for combined Flash Flood/Severe warnings, the time is only added to the Flash Flood end time. The time in the VTEC line for the SV.W will stay the same.
DO NOT edit the polygon vertices. The polygon should be the same for the extension as it was in the previous issuance. While this is possible in OB7.2, the vertices are appropriately locked in OB8.1.
Click Create Text
Edit the product as needed and Send.
Note the time to expiration changes in the drop down menu
