A mild evening will be expected across the Rio Grande Valley and Deep South Texas with mostly clear skies. The overnight will feature patchy fog and an increase in clouds along with an isolated chance for showers as a weak cold front advances across the region. Drier and slightly cooler air can be expected behind the front with early morning lows in the upper 50s to middle 60s. For the mariners, expect winds to shift from the southeast towards the west to west-southwest across the coastal waters with an increasing chop on the bay and seas of 3 to 6 feet, occasionally 8 feet at times. Small Craft Exercise Caution on the offshore gulf waters from 20 to 60 nautical miles out.
A weak cold front moves south through the region late tonight into Thursday morning, yielding closer to normal temperatures on Thursday, before the weekend into next week warms back up. High temperatures range from the upper 80s to the mid and upper 90s Friday to Monday. Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible in the lower valley Thursday morning with the cold front. The next chance of showers and thunderstorms starts late Saturday afternoon in the northern ranchlands, increasing into Sunday morning, mainly in the northern portions of deep south Texas. Breezy conditions are expected to continue into this weekend.
