A Contrast in Seasons

 

The first photo was taken during an unusually dry Autumn in Sioux Falls. Precipitation for the period of August to November 1999 was 6.68 inches below normal...and the Autumn season (Sept-Nov) was the 3rd driest on record.

In contrast, the bottom photo was taken during the Floods of 2001.  More specifically, after a record rainfall event in Sioux Falls, during which nearly 4 inches of rain fell in under 36 hours. More photos from this time are seen below.
