River Flood Concerns Will Remain In Central U.S. For Several More Days

Heavy rain that began last week and continued through the weekend has brought widespread flooding to a large swath of the central U.S., from the Gulf Coast to the Great Lakes. Numerous river systems will remain in flood stage well into the workweek. Another round of rainfall is forecast across the mid & lower Miss. Valley Tuesday into Wednesday which will exacerbate the ongoing river flood threat. Read More >

Ben Kyger, Director, National Centers for Environmental Prediction Central Operations Kyger graduated from the California State Polytechnic University and started his career with Electronic Data Systems, eventually becoming an account executive supporting Bethlehem Steel. He went to work for i2 Technologies as a consulting director supporting one of their largest clients, Caterpillar Corporation. He became the deputy director of NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Prediction Central Operations in March 2006 and has served as the center’s Director since January 2008.
