
Sweltering heat remains across the South-Central Plains, Lower/Middle Mississippi Valley, and the Southwest this week with limited nighttime relief. Thunderstorms will bring heavy rainfall leading to localized flash flooding in portions of the Desert Southwest and central Plains. Dan Muller is the Director of the NWS International Affairs Office (IAO) and has served in this role since December 2023.
Dan previously served as the IAO Deputy Director since 2015, and carried the responsibilities for strategic management of NWS bilateral relationships and International Crosscut support for development of the NWS Annual Operating Plan.
Dan has been with NOAA in a variety of positions since 2005. He began his career as a Presidential Management Fellow in the NESDIS International Affairs Division, and he performed assignments as the Program Coordination Officer for NESDIS in 2009, as a Congressional Liaison in the NOAA Office of Legislative Affairs in 2011, and as a Policy Advisor for NOAA’s Assistant Secretary for Environmental Observation and Prediction in 2015.
