Overview

Isolated severe thunderstorms with large hail, gusty winds, and a weak tornado hit north-central and northeast Wisconsin during the evening of July 12, 2017.

Ping-pong ball size hail was reported with a couple of thunderstorms in far north-central Wisconsin. A weak tornado formed with a storm in Portage County.

This tornado is the 13th in the NWS Green Bay service area of northeast Wisconsin (through July 14). The average number of tornadoes in northeast Wisconsin for a year is seven.
