A Slight to Enhanced Risk of severe thunderstorms is in the forecast for today. The main threats will be damaging winds, large hail, tornadoes, and locally heavy rainfall. Expect rainfall of 2 to 4 inches with locally higher amounts. Rainfall rates with these storms could be very high and cause flash flooding in a short time. Stay weather aware today.
South winds of 20 to 30 mph with frequent gusts up 40 mph are expected Today. This will lead to difficult driving conditions for high profile vehicles especially on east-west roadways and on bridges and overpasses. Loose lawn objects along with trash cans will be blown around. Unsecured tents will easily be tossed around.
Strong south winds combined with spring tides will cause coastal flooding along portions of the coast today. Tide will be 2 feet higher than normal. This will cause minor flooding in low lying areas outside of levee protection.
Strong to Severe Thunderstorms are expected today across the entire area. All modes of severe weather are possible today. Conditions improve later this evening. Cool and dry weather conditions are expected on Monday and Monday night.
