Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Across the Southern and Eastern US; Heat and Fire Weather Concerns in the West

Showers and thunderstorms are expected across the southern and eastern US this week, with heavy rain and localized flooding, particularly near the Gulf Coast. The National Weather Service in Morristown, TN is presenting a spotter training class for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community in Chattanooga, TN.

The presentation will be held on July 8th, 2017 from 1 pm - 3 pm EDT. Interpreters and CART services will be provided, and WeatherAlert Radios, provided by Hamilton County 9-1-1 and Hearing Loss Association of America, Chattanooga Chapter, will be raffled at the talk.
 

We are asking that everyone that is planning to attend email Jessica Winton (jessica.winton@noaa.gov) by June 28th, so we have an idea of the facilities needed.

 

The Partnership for Families, Children, and Adults is providing interpreters and hosting this event, and the Hearing Loss Association of America, Chattanooga Chapter is sponsoring CART services.
