A storm system will move bring heavy mountain snow and high winds to the Intermountain West and the Plains. Locally heavy rain from a nearly stalled front on the southern California coastline could cause flash flooding. About Great Lakes Beach Forecasts & Statements: They are issued seasonally for the U.S. side of Lake Erie, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Lake Ontario, and Lake Superior from roughly Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend (weather dependent). Beach forecasts contain a daily swim risk, which is based on that days threat of high waves and dangerous currents. Beach hazard statements provide additional details on high swim risk days.

 

As of September 30, 2022 the Surf Zone Forecast has ended across the Great Lakes for the season. The Surf Zone Forecast for the Great Lakes will resume in late May 2023.
