Last Map Update: Sun, Apr 19, 2026 at 12:34:16 am CDT

There is a Marginal (Level 1 of 4) Risk of excessive rainfall Sunday across Deep South Texas. Rainfall with a cold front this weekend may be heavy at times, which can lead to isolated flash flooding in low lying, poor drainage, or urban areas.
A cold front late Saturday into Sunday will bring mostly beneficial rain this weekend, with rain likely on Sunday. Across the region, forecast rainfall amounts through Monday are 1 to 2 inches, with locally higher amounts of 3 to 4 inches possible. Locally heavy rainfall may lead to isolated flash flooding in low lying, poor drainage, or urban areas. Be sure to stay tuned to the forecast!
Favorable weather conditions at the local beaches will be spoiled by a MODERATE RISK of rip currents in the surf zone.
The passage of a cold front will produce rainy conditions for the end of the weekend and into the start of the new work week.
A Small Craft Advisory is in effect from 1 AM Sunday until 10 PM Sunday. Northeast winds 15 to 25 knots with guts to 30 knots and seas up to 9 feet will be hazardous to small craft.
A High Surf Advisory is in effect from 6 AM Sunday until 7 PM Sunday. Large breaking waves in the surf zone will be dangerous to anyone entering the water. Additionally, a High Risk for Rip Currents is in effect from 6 AM Sunday through Sunday evening. Life-threatening rip currents are expected along the Lower Texas Coast beaches on Sunday.
A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect from 6 AM Sunday until 1 PM Sunday. Nuisance flooding around high tide may make beaches impassible to vehicles as water reaches into the dunes.
