National Program
Although National Severe Weather Preparedness Week ends today, the preparedness actions we highlighted this week will continue to pay dividends far beyond this year’s severe weather season. If you pledged to prepare this week, you’ve taken the first step to making sure that you and your family are prepared for severe weather. And if you’ve shared that action with others, you’re well on your way to becoming a force of nature.
Knowing your risk and taking action by making a plan, building a kit and staying informed via a NOAA Weather Radio bring us all closer to a truly Weather-Ready Nation. Sharing that action with others starts a movement – a national movement to be prepared. And that movement doesn’t stop with severe weather. It continues to hurricanes, tsunamis and other natural disasters.
Preparedness is a 365 days a year activity. Preparedness plans should be revisited and practiced throughout the year.
