A NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SURVEY TEAM FOUND LOTS OF EVIDENCE
OF DAMAGING STRAIGHT LINE WINDS OF AROUND 80 TO 85 MPH ALONG WITH
SOFTBALL SIZE HAIL IN THE TOWN OF RICHLAND SPRINGS. THIS SWATH OF
HAIL EXTENDED NORTHEAST TOWARDS LOCKER, SPRING CREEK AND ALGERITA
AND SOUTHWEST ACROSS RICHLAND SPRINGS.

THIS COMBINATION OF WIND AND HAIL DAMAGED VEHICLES, BROKE WINDOWS
IN HOMES AND DAMAGED SIDING AND ROOFS OF MANY HOMES. ONE TRAILER
HOME WAS DESTROYED BY THE DAMAGING THUNDERSTORM WINDS.

ALL OF THE DEBRIS WAS ALIGNED FROM NORTHEAST TO SOUTHWEST. WE OBSERVED
MANY OAK TREES THAT COMPLETELY LOST ALL OF THEIR LEAVES. THERE WERE
MANY BROKEN TREE BRANCHES AND SOME TREES WERE UPROOTED. LIVESTOCK WERE
ALSO KILLED BY THE DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL STONES. NUMEROUS
VEHICLES LOST WINDSHIELDS AND WERE SEVERELY DENTED BY THE WIND AND HAIL.
