Winds subside some tonight, but stronger and more widespread winds are expected on Friday. Additionally, a cold front and showers/isolated thunder may enhance wind gusts, mostly along the Divide and in SW MT. Be sure to secure any loose outdoor objects and be ready for strong crosswinds if travelling and choppy water on area lakes and reservoirs. #MTwx
After some recent warmer than average days, temperatures will fall to near to slightly below average temperatures tomorrow. Expect some gusty winds today and Friday, then some wet and unsettled weather next week.
Some snow is expected above 5500 feet through Friday night, bringing a slushy accumulation to the higher terrain. Those who will be venturing into the backcountry should be prepared for cold and raw conditions.
