A National Weather Service Damage Assessment Team has surveyed the storm damage in Montgomery County. It has been determined the damage was the result of a tornado. The tornado has been rated an EF-0 on the Enhanced Fujita Scale. Damage estimates were consistent with winds around 70-80 mph.
Just west of the town of Gibson, a tornado briefly touched down to the west of Mt. Lebanon Road and traveled to the east for 0.15 miles, lifting just to the east of Mt. Lebanon Road. Damage along the path included eight to 10 trees snapped or uprooted, metal roofing blown off a barn and minor shingle damage to a home. At its widest point, the tornado was 150 yards wide.
