Flynn EF-0 Tornado (Fayette Co)

Event Summary

National Weather Service meteorologists surveyed damage in Fayette County near Flynn and determined that the damage was consistent with an EF-0 tornado.

A brief, weak tornado touched down near the intersection of Flynn Road and Alabama Highway 102. This location is about 3 miles southwest of Fowlers Crossroads or 10 miles northeast of Fayette. Some trees were knocked down along the short path. Minor roof damage to an outbuilding occurred near the end of the path. The tornado was 0.3 miles long and was 50 yards wide at its widest point. The tornado was rated an EF-0 with maximum winds around 65 mph.
