Severe Thunderstorms and Excessive Rainfall in the Mid-Atlantic; Heat and Fire Weather Concerns in the West

Scattered strong to severe storms, excessive rainfall, and flooding are expected across parts of the Mid-Atlantic into the Northeast today. Flood Watches are in effect. Heat will continue to impact the West today. Heat advisories are in effect for portions of the Intermountain West; and Extreme Heat Warnings are in effect for portions of Arizona and southeast California. Read More >

A weather system is expected to push into the area Tuesday to bring much colder temperatures through Thursday as well as accumulating snow Tuesday evening through Wednesday afternoon. Snow may become heavy at times Tuesday evening. The northern and central mountains could still see amounts approach a foot over a 2-day period ending Wednesday afternoon. Across the plains, amounts will likely be in the 2 to 5 inch range. Please stay tuned as details unfold for this winter weather event.
