Looking ahead to this weekend, moisture will increase from the south on Saturday as moisture is pulled in from the Gulf of Mexico. This will result in increased shower and thunderstorm activity over the region. Temperatures will also cool to near normal due to increase in clouds and showers, as shown in the graphics below.

Runoff from snowmelt will keep river flows strong and present hazards near and on waterways across western colorado and eastern Utah.

Remember, at higher flows, river banks can become saturated and
unstable. Caution is urged as these banks can erode or collapse
unexpectedly. Extra debris can be swept downstream. Do not
let children play near high flowing rivers, creeks, and canals.

River rafters and kayakers should use caution on rivers with high
flows, strong currents, and cold water temperatures. Novices
should ride with experienced guides or commercial outfitters. Even
experienced boaters should be aware of the hazards a river
presents at differing levels and rates of flow.

For all recorded river levels in the area see the Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Service page.
