A tornado struck the Prairie Flower community in Clay County, Texas,
on this date in 1972. A 60 by 40 foot chicken house was tossed onto the roof of a nearby residence, and 2 by 4 timbers were driven through the roof. One resident, who was in the basement when the tornado struck, said the wind became "very still, and then burst with the noise of a jet airplane." |
