Heavy Rainfall for Portions of the West and Southern Plains; Dangerous Heat for the Northwest

Monsoonal flow coinciding with a frontal boundary will focus more showers and thunderstorms across the central Great Basin, central Rockies, Southwest into the Southern Plains. Heavy rainfall may bring about instances of flash flooding. Meanwhile, record setting heat continues for the Pacific Northwest through Monday. The combination of anywhere from 0.8 to over 5 inches of rain and 2 to 5 inches of snow-water equivalent melt from June 10-13th led to unprecedented flooding across the Absarokas and Beartooths. This led to flooding rarely or never seen before across many area rivers and streams.
