Severe Thunderstorm and Critical Fire Weather Threats in the Central U.S. Tuesday

There is an Enhanced Risk (Level 3 of 5) for severe thunderstorms Tuesday with threats for significant severe hail and tornado potential over southern Iowa into northern Missouri and west-central Illinois. Elevated to critical fire weather is possible Tuesday due to gusty winds and dry conditions over parts of the southern High Plains and northeastern Montana. Read More >

  • A tab with the Fire Weather Forecast Discussion and the forecast for the Fire Weather Zone clicked upon will be in the second tab.
  • A color coded Fire Weather Matrix will show up in the next tab. Some offices have created custom thresholds for the matrix. Otherwise, "default" parameters will be used. Note: This information covers the area on the map within the "green square".
  • The final tab has a 3 hourly point forecast matrix for the next 6 days. Note: This information covers the area on the map within the "green square".
  • Sometimes, a second click is required to get the map to react.
