Heavy Precipitation in the West; Wintry Mix in the North; Fire Weather in the High Plains

Pacific moisture will continue to bring locally heavy coastal/lower elevation rain and heavy mountain snow to the West Coast and portions of the Intermountain West through Monday. A wintry mix will create hazardous travel across the northern Plains and Upper Midwest into early Monday. Operations and Decision Support Division (ODSD)

The WR Operations and Decision Support Division (ODSD) is focused on supporting the hydrometeorological operations of the WR field offices and assisting in the evolution of operations toward an IDSS focus. The ODSD mission is to promote and implement IDSS for weather and water dependent events that significantly affect people, their livelihoods and the economy throughout WR. The ODSD meets its mission by:

Developing a vision for the consistent implementation of IDSS throughout the Region

Identifying and promoting IDSS "best practices" throughout the WR field offices

Managing and operating the WR Regional Operations Center

Cultivating regional partners and identifying their weather-dependent information needs

Implementing new tools and techniques which support the provision of IDSS by all WR field offices
