Above Average Temperatures for the West and Central Plains; Lake Effect Snow Continues

Well above average temperatures will prevail across the Plains and the West Coast this week, while a cold front will bring Arctic air to the South and East Coast Thursday and Friday. Program Support Division (PSD)

The Western Region Program Support Division (PSD) provides an avenue for field offices to carry out the NWS Strategic Plan objectives. PSD supports the efforts of field offices and other divisions to provide environmental decision support by:

Providing information, structure, prioritization, and guidance to enable WR offices to meet stakeholder requirements

Removing barriers and impediments to progress

Fostering new services and innovation to move the agency forward

Taking a leadership role in workgroups to ensure field offices are provided with the highest level of support and responsiveness

Evaluating field performance in meeting the NWS Strategic Plan objectives

Ensuring field needs are met through appropriate training and tools

Anticipating future direction and preparing the field for upcoming changes
