Heavy Rainfall and Severe Thunderstorms in the Midwest and Ohio Valley Tuesday

Multiple rounds of severe thunderstorms appear likely Tuesday across the Midwest and Ohio Valley, with severe wind gusts in excess of 75 mph as the primary threat. Systems and Facilities Division (SFD)

The Systems and Facilities Division (SFD) manages the operations and maintenance of the various systems and facilities which support the NWS Western Region weather enterprise. Examples include Doppler Radar (WSR-88D), Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS), NOAA Weather Radio (NWR), Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), local and wide area networks, buildings, grounds, and towers, just to name a few.
