Thunderstorms and Heavy Rainfall in the Plains

Severe thunderstorms will be possible over parts of the northern Plains today through Thursday which could bring large hail, damaging winds, and possible tornadoes. Systems and Facilities Division (SFD)

The Systems and Facilities Division (SFD) manages the operations and maintenance of the various systems and facilities which support the NWS Western Region weather enterprise. Examples include Doppler Radar (WSR-88D), Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS), NOAA Weather Radio (NWR), Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), local and wide area networks, buildings, grounds, and towers, just to name a few.
