Significant Coastal Impacts to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast; Tropical Storm Nolo to Impact Hawaii

A strong coastal storm will bring moderate to major coastal flooding, strong winds, heavy rainfall and high surf to the Mid-Atlantic and New England. Tropical Storm Nolo is expected to strengthen into a hurricane Thursday as it moves north toward the Big Island of Hawaii. Systems and Facilities Division (SFD)

The Systems and Facilities Division (SFD) manages the operations and maintenance of the various systems and facilities which support the NWS Western Region weather enterprise. Examples include Doppler Radar (WSR-88D), Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS), NOAA Weather Radio (NWR), Advanced Weather Interactive Processing System (AWIPS), local and wide area networks, buildings, grounds, and towers, just to name a few.
