A storm tracking across the southern U.S. will continue to bring areas of heavy thunderstorms with risks for severe weather and excessive rainfall from Texas to Florida through this weekend. ...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SURVEY TEAM CONFIRMS A TORNADO IN AIKEN
COUNTY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CONDUCTED A STORM SURVEY IN AIKEN
COUNTY NEAR THE CITY OF AIKEN. RESULTS DETERMINED THAT AN EF-2
TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN IN THE CITY LIMITS OF AIKEN. THE WIND SPEED WAS
ESTIMATED TO BE AROUND 115 MPH.

THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT TREE DAMAGE AND DAMAGE TO SEVERAL HOMES IN THE
WOODSIDE PLANTATION AND AIKEN ESTATES SUBDIVISIONS.
