A deep upper level low pressure system moved slowly across the
Southeast during the period. The associated surface area of low
pressure produced rainfall amounts from 1 to 5 inches across the
Midlands. The heaviest rain fell across western North Carolina and
the Upstate of South Carolina. The rain that fell would eventually
lead to river flooding along the Congaree River and Wateree River.
