Scattered severe thunderstorms are possible Saturday afternoon into early evening across parts of the southern High Plains. November began with temperatures below normal and that trend
continued through the remainder of the month. Additionally, rainfall
across the Midlands and Central Savannah River Area was close to
normal. It was the 18th coldest November on record at Columbia as
temperatures were 3.5 degrees below normal.

It was the 3rd coldest November on record at the NWS Coop site at
Bamberg. Records for Bamberg began in 1951. Here are the top 3
coldest November years.

1. 49.2 degrees in 1976
2. 51.1 degrees in 2014
3. 51.4 degrees in 2019

It was the 4th coldest November on record at the NWS Coop site at
the University of South Carolina in Columbia. Records for the USC
site began in 1954. Here are the top 5 coldest November years.

It was the 5th coldest November on record at the NWS Coop site at

Events...

November 7th...Widespread rainfall event across the Midlands and
Central Savannah River Area. An area of low pressure developed along
an approaching cold front. This produced rainfall amounts from one
half inch up to over 2 inches across portions of the region. This
system helped ease the drought conditions across the area.

November 9th and 10th...Cold morning temperatures across the
Midlands and CSRA. Cold Canadian high pressure settled in across the
Southeast and produced morning low temperatures in the middle 20s to

ENSO (EL NINO SOUTHERN OSCILLATION)...
ENSO-neutral conditions are present.

Equatorial sea surface temperatures are near to above average across
much of the Pacific Ocean.

ENSO-neutral is favored during the Northern Hemisphere Winter 2019-
20 with a 70 percent chance of continuance. There is a 60 to 65
percent chance that ENSO-neutral conditions will continue through
Spring of 2020.
