Public Information Statement National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac MI ...Changes for three river forecast points in Southeast Michigan to take effect April 1, 2026... Consistent observational gage data is not available on the River Raisin at Tecumseh (TECM4) and Dundee (DNDM4) river forecast locations. River gage observations are critical for producing high quality forecasts, so after coordination with partners, including the USGS, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Emergency Managers from Lenawee and Monroe Counties, the National Weather Service will discontinue forecast services for these locations, effective April 1, 2026. Forecast services will also be discontinued for the Shiawassee River at Fergus (FRGM4) effective April 1, 2026. In coordination with the USGS, the US Army Corps of Engineers, and Saginaw County Emergency Management, an assessment concluded that flooding in this reach of the river poses no significant impacts to life and property. Observed data from this point will continue to be available for informational use.
