Overview
|
A severe squall line tracked from the Chicago/Milwaukee areas across southern Lower Michigan. The line of storms accelerated across the state. These storms preceded extreme heat which had been in place since Tuesday. Widespread 60 to 70 mph thunderstorm wind gusts had an outsized impact on Metro Detroit and Ann Arbor. This resulted in significant tree damage with reports of trees and/or tree limbs onto homes, businesses and vehicles. An estimated 300,000 people lost power. |
