Heat Wave Expands to the East Coast; Flash Flooding Likely in the Central Plains into the Midwest; Severe Thunderstorms in the Northeast

Dangerous, prolonged heat is ongoing in the Mid-South to Mid-Mississippi Valley and heat expands into the Northeast for a brief period today. Widely scattered instances of flash flooding due to heavy rains are forecast from northeast Kansas to much of Indiana. Overview

A line of severe thunderstorms formed across Northern Indiana providing numerous reports of wind damaging and damaging wind gusts.  A few reports of large hail were received (one report of 2 inch hail near Bryan, OH), but damaging wind gusts were the main the main threat.  Some higher end wind gusts in excess of 75 mph were also reported along with extensive tree damage.
