Severe Weather and Heavy Rain Threat over the Central U.S.; Dangerous Heat In the South

Widespread strong to severe storms and heavy rain remain possible tonight across parts of the central and southern Plains into southern Missouri. The ninth tornado developed just southwest of Ransom, Michigan at 7:00 p.m. EDT (6:00 p.m. EST), moved north-northeast across the northwest side of the small community, and lifted just north of town.  It produced F1 damage along its 2 mile long, 60 yard wide path.
