Tracking Late December Winter Storm Expected to Impact the Northern Plains through the Northeast U.S.

A winter storm system will rapidly intensify over the Midwest on Sunday and track through the Great Lakes on Monday. Periods of heavy snow are anticipated across the Upper Great Lakes late Sunday and continuing into Monday. The ninth tornado developed just southwest of Ransom, Michigan at 7:00 p.m. EDT (6:00 p.m. EST), moved north-northeast across the northwest side of the small community, and lifted just north of town.  It produced F1 damage along its 2 mile long, 60 yard wide path.
