Storm Moving through the South; Pacific Storm to Impact the West this Weekend

A storm is expected to develop over the southern High Plains today and track to the Mid-Atlantic through Friday with showers and thunderstorms. On the northern edge, snow, ice, and/or a wintry mix is possible over the central Plains. NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NORTHERN INDIANA
1040 AM EST THU NOV 25 2004

A STRONG LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM MOVED OVER THE GREAT LAKES AND OHIO 
VALLEY REGION WEDNESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THIS BROUGHT SEVERE 
WEATHER TO THE OHIO VALLEY AND ACCUMULATING SNOW TO THE GREAT LAKES 
REGION. THE HEAVIEST SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WERE SITUATED OVER NORTHWEST 
INDIANA AND INTO SOUTHWESTERN LOWER MICHIGAN. RAINFALL AMOUNTS 
BEFORE CHANGING OVER TO ALL SNOW RANGED FROM ONE TO TWO INCHES  
OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST INDIANA AND INTO NORTHWEST OHIO. LIMA, 
OHIO OFFICIAL ASOS SITE REPORTED 1.84 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION AND 
ONLY 0.03 OF THIS WAS ACTUALLY IN THE FORM OF SNOW. 

REPORTS OF OCCASIONAL BURSTS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY SNOW WITH 
ACCUMULATIONS OF 1 TO 1.5 INCHES PER HOUR OCCURRED. STRONG GUSTY 
WINDS OF 35 TO 45 MPH WERE RECORDED, WHICH ALSO LEAD TO VERY LOW 
VISIBILITIES AT TIMES. ALSO TO NOTE, NUMEROUS REPORTS OF THUNDERSNOW 
WERE RECEIVED DURING THIS EVENT.
