Heavy Rainfall Threat for Mid-Atlantic into Southern New England; Fire Weather Hazards for the West

Heavy rain and isolated severe thunderstorms may cause flash flooding in the northern Mid-Atlantic today. The Mid-Atlantic and Southeast heatwave is slowly easing, while cooler, drier air spreads across the Central and Eastern U.S. for the start of August.
