Overview

A line of showers and thunderstorms raced across the forecast area during the afternoon and early evening hours on August 29th, 2022. Numerous reports of wind damage were received as the main line of thunderstorms tracked from west to east across the area between 2 PM EDT and 6 PM EDT.  Severe reports were received of downed trees, along with some instances of trees downed onto cars or houses.  Additional storms redeveloped on the evening of August 29th, but these storms were mainly sub-severe in nature.  We would like to thank everyone who submitted reports and pictures for this event!
