Heat Wave Across the Central and Southeast US; Flash Flood Threats in the North-Central US, Southeast, and Guam

Dangerous heat is expected across portions of the Central and Southeast U.S. through July. Heavy rains, flash flooding & severe weather are possible across the middle Missouri River Valley and Upper Midwest to the upper Great Lakes. Overview

On February 27th, 2023, rain and strong to severe thunderstorms moved through the NWS Northern Indiana forecast area. The main hazards from this event were damaging winds and heavy rainfall. There were sporadic reports of damage, mainly across the south and eastern portions of the area. Many locations saw between 1-2" of rain in 48 hours, which led to flooding concerns in low-lying areas and local rivers/streams.
