Middle Tennessee Weather History For April 18th...
On April 18, 1877...A tornado touches down 1 mile south of Newburg,
in Lewis County, and travels for 40 miles, finally lifting at La
Vergne. The twister kills 10, and injures another 50. A second
tornado, possibly associated with the same thunderstorm, touches down
3 miles northwest of Lebanon, and travels another 15 miles to near
Hartsville. This second twister is rated an F2.
