Hot temperatures and high humidity will lead to high heat risk today through Tuesday. Afternoon heat index values will be over 100° or higher west of the Cumberland Plateau. Try to limit outdoor time during peak heating if possible and stay hydrated.
With heat index values of 100°+ for an extended period, it is important you take the proper precautions if you have to be in the heat. Understanding the symptoms of heat exhaustion or heat stroke are very important.
Hot and dry conditions will continue through Tuesday with highs in the 90s and lows in the upper 60s to mid 70s. There is low chance of storms on Monday and Tuesday. Some relief from the heat is expected mid to late next week with slightly cooler temperatures and higher rain chances.
