Heat Wave Expands to the East Coast; Flash Flooding Likely in the Central Plains into the Midwest; Severe Thunderstorms in the Northeast

Dangerous, prolonged heat is ongoing in the Mid-South to Mid-Mississippi Valley and heat expands into the Northeast for a brief period today. Widely scattered instances of flash flooding due to heavy rains are forecast from northeast Kansas to much of Indiana. Overview

Here is a summary of all of the 2019 tornadoes in our area. There were 25 total across our four state region, with 19 of those occurring during 3 events: March 14th, June 21st, and June 23rd. There were 2 EF-2's, including one that struck Paducah, KY and passed within 1.5 miles of the NWS Paducah office on March 14th. An EF-1 tornado also passed through Paducah on June 23rd.  Below you will find an interactive map showing all of the tornado tracks for the year. If you zoom in on a certain tornado track, you can view more detailed information. The second tab (Statistics/Tables) has more information regarding the tornadoes in 2019.
