Dangerous Heat in the Central and Eastern U.S.; Critical Fire Weather in the Great Basin and Southwest

Dangerous, record-breaking heat will intensify across most of the central and eastern U.S this week. Heat indices will likely exceed 100 degrees. Heat is likely to continue across the eastern U.S. through the Independence Day holiday weekend. Overview

An MCV passed across the region on the afternoon of June 27th which then laid out a boundary across far west Kentucky by late afternoon. Mini supercells formed from both rounds of thunderstorms, which ended up producing 4 brief tornadoes across our area.

Tornadoes

Additionally, the table can fill the entire window by clicking the small circular expanding arrow icon at the very top right of the table and returned to its original size by clicking the button again. The side information panel that opens over the map can be closed using the "X" on the upper right corner of the pop-up. Zoom into the map and click damage points to see detailed information and pictures from the surveys.
