Heat Wave Expands to the East Coast; Flash Flooding Likely in the Central Plains into the Midwest; Severe Thunderstorms in the Northeast

Dangerous, prolonged heat is ongoing in the Mid-South to Mid-Mississippi Valley and heat expands into the Northeast for a brief period today. Widely scattered instances of flash flooding due to heavy rains are forecast from northeast Kansas to much of Indiana. ...Winter Weather Preparedness Campaigns for Our Region... As the winter months approach, so will the chances for very cold temperatures, snow, freezing rain, sleet, and strong winds and the impacts of those weather elements. In preparation for the upcoming winter season, the National Weather Service in Paducah and its partners will hold winter weather preparedness campaigns for each of the four states it serves.
