Snow Shifting to the Northeast; Heavy Rain Returns to the South; Blizzard Conditions in Alaska; Monsoon Tough Impacts American Samoa

A storm will slide across northern New England Tuesday with locally heavy snow and ice. Further south, heavy rain and additional flooding is possible from Texas to South Carolina. In Alaska, strong winds and heavy snow will continue Tuesday with localized Blizzard conditions around Bethel. A strong monsoonal trough will continue to pass over American Samoa through Wednesday. On Saturday March 2nd, 2019, a strong cold front moved through the area with an Arctic air mass moving in behind the front.  A strong upper level system started bringing  some snowfall to the area during the early morning hours of Sunday March 3rd and lingered through the remainder of the morning, eventually ending as flurries during the afternoon.  Snowfall amounts ranged from around an inch over the southern portion of the forecast area to around 2-3 inches in central MO.
